Senator Elizabeth Warren addresses the audience at the morning plenary session at the Netroots Nation conference for political progressives in Atlanta, Georgia. Elizabeth Warren is a U.S. senator from Massachusetts who advocates for financial regulation and led the creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau after the 2008 financial crisis. She won a seat in Congress in 2011 after Republicans blocked former Democratic President Barack Obama's attempt to appoint her as the first director of the CFPB. In July, she wrote Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen a letter seeking to remove members of Wells Fargo & Co's board after revelations that the company improperly charged customers for auto insurance. In her book released this year, "This Fight is Our Fight," she analyzes and criticizes the mistakes of the Democratic party in the 2016 presidential election.
