FILE PHOTO OF PAYNE STEWART HUGGING HIS DAUGHTER.
FILE PHOTO 17JUN91 - Reigning U.S. Open golf champion Payne Stewart was killed when his private Learjet plane crashed in South Dakota on October 25 after a ghostly, uncontrolled flight halfway across the United States. None of the five people on board survived the crash in a grassy farm field in northeast South Dakota, officials said, and unconfirmed reports indicated all may have died in the air long before the plane ran out of fuel and went down. Stewart is seen hugging his daughter Chelsea after his victory at the US Open golf championship in this June 17, 1991, file photo.
