FRENCHMAN ALAIN "SPIDERMAN" ROBERT CLIMBS TO WAITING CIVIL DEFENCE OFFICERS WHILE ABORTING HIS ATTEMPT TO SCALE ONE OF SINGAPORE'S TALLEST BUILDINGS.
Alain "Spiderman" Robert, a Frenchman who defies authorities around the world by scaling the world's tallest buildings without permission, climbs to civil defence officers waiting on the 23rd floor of Singapore's Oversea-Union Bank headquarters after he accepted their rope and aborted his attempt to ascend the 60-story-high structure November 3, 2000. Robert, who has conquered by freehand the world's tallest building - Kuala Lumpur's Petronas Towers - along with a host of famous skycrapers ranging from Chicago's Sears Tower to Paris' Eiffel Tower and New York's Empire State Building, was later detained by Singapore police, who said they were treating his stunt as a case of criminal trespass.
