A sample of the original penicillin mould cultivated by scientific pioneer Alexander Fleming, which is expected to sell for more than 10,000 pounds sterling at Sotheby's auction house, is held by a Sotheby's assistant March 8. The original glass plate is preserved in Fleming's labo ratory at St Mary's Hospital in London, but the scientist gave two specimens to his assistant, one of which is now for sale
