Men work out at a gym one day after the occupation of the Mare slums complex in Rio de Janeiro, March 31, 2014. The federal troops and police occupied the Mare slums complex on Sunday to help quell a surge in violent crime following attacks by drug traffickers on police posts in three slums on the north side of the city, government officials said. Less than three months before Rio welcomes tens of thousands of foreign soccer fans for the World Cup, the attacks cast new doubts on government efforts to expel gangs from slums using a strong police presence. Orty Gym owner Lynda Ellabou poses in her new all-women's gym on the outskirts of Paris, in Le Raincy, October 4, 2013. The gym has become the unlikely venue for a heated controversy in France over Muslim integration, secularism and what some charge is blatant populism in advance of upcoming municipal elections. The gym, which opened last month in the bourgeois suburb of Le Raincy, is owned by a French Muslim couple who say their religion and appearance - she wears a headscarf and he a long beard - are the reason the mayor wants to shut them down. Some of the 70 women who have already joined the room cover their hair with a headscarf, but many do not, as all races and religions are welcome, said Lynda Ellabou, who owns the gym with her husband. Carol Johnson, 80, works out on a treadmill at a recreation center in Sun City, Arizona, January 5, 2013. Sun City was built in 1959 by entrepreneur Del Webb as America?s first active retirement community for the over-55's. Del Webb predicted that retirees would flock to a community where they were given more than just a house with a rocking chair in which to sit and wait to die. Today?s residents keep their minds and bodies active by socializing at over 120 clubs with activities such as square dancing, ceramics, roller skating, computers, cheerleading, racquetball and yoga. There are 38,500 residents in the community with an average age 72.4 years. Picture taken January 5, 2013. REUTERS/Lucy Nicholson (UNITED STATES - Tags: SOCIETY)
