GERMAN CHANCELLOR GERHARD SCHROEDER LAUGHS AS HE RECEIVES MEDIA AWARD.
A combination of four pictures show German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder as he listens to the speech of former US President Bill Clinton, after Schroeder received this year's media award given by Germany's Media Control during a ceremony in Baden Baden, March 13, 2001. The award winner is elected by the chief editors of the main German papers and TV broadcasters. Schroeder announced earlier today that he was confident that German business leaders would reach an agreement on raising funds to pay a full five billion marks to compensate elderly Holocaust surviviours.
