Cambodian workers mark their fingerprints on documents as they prepare to move back to Cambodia at the army base in Sa Kaew June 15, 2014. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) estimates that over the past week 100,000 Cambodians have poured over the border, as the military that seized power in a May 22 coup intensifies lax measures to regulate illegal labour. The military's ruling National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) insists Cambodians are leaving of their own accord and said 60,000 had crossed the border as of Saturday. A migrant has his fingerprints taken inside a police station, after being apprehended by the Serbian border police, having illegally entered the country from Macedonia, near the town of Presevo some 383 km (238 miles) from capital Belgrade July 17, 2013. Every year, the Serbian border police catch thousands of migrants from Africa, the Middle East, and elsewhere who are trying to reach Serbia illegally. In many cases they come from Turkey, through Greece to Macedonia and Serbia before they reach Hungary and with it, the borderless Schengen travel zone. With chaos and conflict raging in Syria, last year saw a huge increase in the number of Syrians trying to enter the Western Balkans in search of asylum in the West. Picture taken July 17, 2013. A monitor displays fingerprints of a foreign worker who just registered himself into the biometric fingerprinting system, as part of a programme to register legal and illegal foreign workers, in Putrajaya August 6, 2011. From minding babies to erecting skyscrapers, Malaysia's economy has been supported over the last three decades by a foreign workforce drawn mainly from Indonesia, the Philippines, Bangladesh, and Nepal as an industrialization drive created a wealth of low-paying jobs shunned by locals. A villager goes through the process of a fingerprint scanner during Unique Identification (UID) database system in the Pathancheru village, in Medak district of the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh April 27, 2010. As India gears up to build the largest biometric database in the world with the aim of providing most of its 1.2 billion citizens UID, perhaps the biggest challenge is smudged fingerprints. The UID Authority of India will issue the first UIDs linked to a person's demographic and biometric information between August and February, and issue about 600 million such IDs over the next five years to help verify citizens quickly and cheaply. It will be a boon for companies and government agencies alike. Picture taken April 27, 2010. To match feature INDIA-IDENTITY/ REUTERS/Krishnendu Halder (INDIA)
