BRITISH MATHEMATICIAN ANDREW WILES RECEIVES AWARD IN GOETTINGEN
British mathematician and professor at the University of Princeton in the United States, Andrew Wiles (R) receives the "Wolflskehl" award from professor Hans Grauert, head of Goettingen's University in Goettingen on June 27. Wiles received the unique award for his solution of a mathematical problem, known as Fermat's Last Theorem, created by French mathematician Pierre de Fermat in the 17th century.
