The Wider Image: Iraqi camp families struggle to make a living
Saif Ali Abdullah, 19, from Mosul's al-Shaimaa district, who fled the Islamic State stronghold of Mosul with his family, poses for a photograph at the supermarket where he works in Khazer camp, east of Mosul, Iraq, February 8, 2017. "During the recent battles between the Iraqi forces and Islamic State, I was shot in the head but divine care helped me and one of our neighbours who worked as a rescue worker in the civil defence also helped until we managed to get out with the help of the army." Abdullah completed his treatment in the camp. After recovering his health, he found work in one of the camp's supermarket. He is paid "about 4,000 dinars ($3.4) a day". Before Islamic State entered Mosul in 2014, he was a high-school student. REUTERS/Muhammad Hamed SEARCH "MOSUL VENDORS" FOR THIS STORY. SEARCH "WIDER IMAGE" FOR ALL STORIES.

Saif al-Kasaesbeh (4th R), father of Jordanian pilot Muath al-Kasaesbeh, sits among senior officers of the Jordanian army at the headquarters of his family's clan in the city of Karak February 4, 2015. Jordan hanged two Iraqi jihadists on Wednesday including a female militant in response to an Islamic State video showing captured Jordanian pilot Muath al-Kasaesbeh being burnt alive by the hardline group. Islamic State had demanded the release of the woman, Sajida al-Rishawi, in exchange for a Japanese hostage who it later beheaded. Sentenced to death in 2005 for her a role in a suicide bomb attack in Amman, Rishawi was executed at dawn, a security source and state television said. A view of the entrance of al-Hadba prison, where the trial of Muammar Gaddafi's sons Saadi Gaddafi and Saif al-Islam more than two dozen of his ex-officials are being held in Tripoli April 14, 2014. Libyan prosecutors opened the trial of deposed leader Muammar Gaddafi's sons and more than two dozen of his ex-officials on Monday in a major test for the North African state's transition to a democracy. Saadi Gaddafi and Saif al-Islam did not appear in the courtroom at Tripoli's al-Hadba prison, but the deposed ruler's ex-spy chief Abdullah al-Senussi was among the former senior officials sitting in blue jumpsuits behind a fenced-off section. Ahmad Sadeq Al Gehani (L) and Professor Phillippe Sands, representatives of Libya, and Sara Criscitelli (R), a representative of the Office of the Prosecutor, attend a public hearing on Libya's challenge to the admissibility of the case against Saif Al-Islam, son of toppled long-time dictator Muammar Gaddafi, in The Hague, October 9, 2012. Libya does not intend handing over Gaddafi to The Hague, but argues he should be tried in Libya, while ICC is hoping to ensure his possible trial in Libya would be conducted in accordance to the international law.
