The cross of Saint Michael is seen in the surroundings of the Montserrat Abbey, where Miguel Hurtado says he was sexually abused by a Benedictine monk at the age of 16, in Montserrat, outside Barcelona, Spain, February 3, 2019. "For me, the worst part were not the abuses, but the Church covering it up," Hurtado said. He said his abuser, 50 years his senior, touched his genitals under the pretext of telling him masturbation was wrong, and tried to tongue-kiss him, which left him "petrified, without knowing what to do". People sit on an embankment as the incoming high tide surrounds the Mont Saint-Michel 11th century abbey off France's Normandy coast March 21, 2015. At the Mont Saint-Michel, where some of the biggest tides in the world occur, visitors earlier gathered to watch the tide disappear out of sight, exposing areas of beach and rock visible only every 18 years. Towns on France's North Atlantic coast braced for their first giant tide of the millennium on Saturday as the full moon and this week's solar eclipse combined to create an ocean surge not seen since 1997. An aerial view shows the Mont Saint-Michel off France's Normandy coast March 20, 2015. The Mont Saint-Michel 11th century abbey is expected to be entirely surrounded by the English Channel following exceptionally high spring tides. Parts of the French coast will be on alert for the so-called "tide of the century", with tidal coefficients of 118 and 119 respectively on March 20 and 21. REUTERS/Pascal Rossignol

Sister Elisabeth provides a Kneipp hydrotherapy to a guest at the abbey retreat in Marienkron April 11, 2014. The abbey retreat, founded by German nuns who came to pray for the souls on the other side of the Iron Curtain in 1955, caters mainly for older customers who come to relieve their mobility problems or aches and pains with Kneipp hydrotherapy. Since opening to the public in 1969, Marienkron has expanded its range of activities to include massage, pilates and even Qigong, but at its heart it remains a spiritual oasis designed to revive body and soul through healthy living and prayer.
