A plastic fruit tree stands in the corner of a room near broken pieces of roof tiles in a building that the owner said was hit by an overnight Israeli air strike, in Jabaliya in the northern Gaza Strip, July 24, 2014. Israel's month-long war against Hamas, with Israel carrying out air strikes, artillery bombardments and ground operations in response to constant militant rocket fire and attacks via tunnels, left more than 2,000 Palestinians dead, most of them civilians, as well as 64 Israeli soldiers and three civilians. It was the deadliest war in Gaza since Israel unilaterally withdrew from the territory in 2005 and included several incidents in which Israel was accused by rights groups of excessive use of force, war crimes or crimes against humanity. For its part, Hamas fired rockets indiscriminately at Israeli towns and cities, was accused of using civilians as human shields and of carrying out attacks from next to hospitals, from ambulances and inside densely populated areas. A cross and burnt artificial flowers, from the so-called Dump Fire, sit on the side of a dirt road near Saratoga Springs, Utah, June 23, 2012. A raging Utah brush fire ignited by target shooting in dry grass has forced some 8,000 people from their homes in two small communities since June 22 as high winds fanned flames toward a nearby explosives factory, authorities said.
