FILE PHOTO OF JAMES BROWN.
Singer James Brown testifies in this February 5, 2002 file photo. A
jury cleared singer James Brown on February 19, 2002 of allegations
that he sexually harassed and wrongfully fired Lisa Agbalaya, 36, a
female employee. But while Brown, 68, was personally exonerated, the
Los Angeles Superior Court jury held his company, James Brown
Enterprise Inc., liable for wrongfully terminating Agbalaya, who worked
for several years in the West Coast office of the entertainer's
company. Agbalaya had accused Brown of making unwanted sexual advances
and later firing her when she filed a complaint about his behavior.
