THE CENTRAL DEBORAH GOLD MINE IN THE AUSTRALIAN REGIONAL CITY OF
The Central Deborah gold mine in the Australian regional city of
Bendigo is seen at dusk and is now a tourist attraction after being
closed in 1954 after being the last mine to operate in Bendigo after
103 years of continuous mining in the area. Gold fever has gripped the
town as a lone mining house makes a new search for the yellow metal,
believing millions of ounces left behind when prospectors pulled up
their stakes in the mid-1950's. Picture taken July 5, 2001.
