A man who said he was desperately looking for a job rests his feet outside one of the job fairs he is regularly visiting in Beijing, China February 23, 2016. A whole generation of Chinese youth raised in a miracle economy over the past decade tilt headlong into a period of material uncertainty as jobs come less easily. As China’s annual parliament sessions kick off next month, the Communist Party will unveil its Five-Year Plan widely expected to outline additional measures to help create jobs and strategies to soothe the sting of massive layoffs as the economy corrects its past excesses and moves away from traditional heavy industries such as coal and steel. Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto vowed on October 6 to hunt down those responsible for the apparent massacre of dozens of students in the southwest of the country that authorities say involved local security officials. The students went missing after they clashed with police in Iguala in the volatile, gang-ridden state of Guerrero on September 26. A mass grave was found near the town over the weekend, full of charred human remains. Guerrero's attorney general, Inaky Blanco, said on Sunday that 28 bodies have been found at the site so far, and it is "probable" that some of the missing 43 students are among the remains found in the graves.

An Alitalia pilot holds his cap during a protest in central Rome September 15, 2008. Alitalia's biggest unions clinched an initial deal with the airline's potential buyers on Monday, raising hopes it could avoid collapse, but pilots balked and flights risked being grounded for a lack of cash to buy fuel. Italy's four main unions -- CGIL, CISL, UIL and UGL -- and a consortium offering to buy Alitalia agreed to the rough outline of a rescue plan that would cut about 3,000 jobs but leave 12,500 workers at the slimmed-down airline. - COMBO PHOTO - This two-picture combo displays what one viewer described as the outline of story book character "Rudolph the Red-Nosed reindeer" (L) and a NASA illustration of a reindeer (R). In actuality, the darker area (when viewed in extreme ultraviolet light) is a substantial coronal hole, a part of the Sun where solar particles are following open magnetic field lines out into space. Like sunspots, they do not stay the same, bur rather develop and change over time. The reindeer observation and illustration was provided by Peter Kuklok of Samstag, Germany.
