MEDICS COLLECT BLOOD SAMPLES FOR DOCTOR AWAITING TREATMENT FOR LEUKEMIA. 
Turkish medics await blood samples from volunteers sitting in cubicles set up inside a basketball hall in Istanbul March 24. Hundreds of Turks gave blood samples to be used in a bone marrow transplant for a young Turkish doctor with leukemia. Dr. Oktar Babuna a Turkish neurological specialist is awaiting a bone marrow transplant while being treated in the United States. German Stefan Morsch Stifftung Foundation members also attended collecting about five thousand blood samples during the campaign and are expected to take the samples to Germany for test before transplanting the bone marrow to the young Turkish doctor.

Doctor Bernhard Thiele of Germany's Stefan Morsch Stifftung Foundation, an expert on bone marrow transplant, speaks to media during a campaign in which Turks gave blood samples to be used in bone marrow transplant for a young Turkish doctor with leukemia at a sports hall in Istanbul March 24. Turkish brain operator Dr. Oktar Babuna is waiting for a bone marrow transplant while being treated in the United States. Stifftung Foundation members also attended to collect about five thousand blood samples during the campaign and expected to send the samples to Germany for tests before transplanting the bone marrow to Babuna.
