Clutching a bible, former policeman Nelson dos Santos Cunha (C) stands trial in Rio de Janeiro November 27 after having voluntarily confessed his role in the killing of eight street children more than three years ago. Cunha, a recently born-again Christian who said he felt deep remorse, implicated three other men. The national movement of street children says four minors are killed every day in Brazil, mostly by police, death squads that often include off-duty police officers or drug gangs.
