"I'd already come to terms with my disability before I began dancing so it's not as if dancing 'saved' me. But before I started dancing, I often felt my wheelchair was cumbersome in my daily life ...But when it comes to dancing, I feel my use of a wheelchair makes it unique," Kambara said. Cape Verdean cook Benvinda Mendes, 73, locally known as Totta, takes a break as costumers eat at her restaurant in Cova da Moura neighbourhood in Lisbon, Portugal, December 13, 2018. Mendes was born in the Cape Verdean island of Santa Catarina. There she was a construction worker, building roads and other infrastructures. In the 1980s she moved to Portugal seeking a better life Ð for her and her family - but when she got to Cova da Moura there was no running water or other basic services. The Wider Image: New Delhi woman bouncer pulls no punches
Joking with clients and colleagues, Mehrunnisha Shokat Ali might be mistaken for any other patron of the Social watering hole in the Indian capital's swanky Hauz Khas neighbourhood. But the intent gaze of her kohl-rimmed eyes, as she stands with arms folded on the edge of the dance floor in an all-black outfit, watching couples bob and twirl to the music, gives away her real occupation. She is Social's famous female bouncer. Mehrunnisha has been a bouncer for nearly a decade, and for the last three years, has done 10-hour night shifts at Social, which functions as a restaurant and co-working space seating 220 people by day, but morphs into a packed club at night. Now Mehrunnisha is expert in breaking up bar fights, frisking female customers, and uncovering illegal drugs. REUTERS/Adnan Abidi SEARCH "DELHI BOUNCER" FOR THIS STORY. A supporter of the Nidaa Tounes party dances in front of the party's headquarters, in Tunis, Tunisia November 3, 2015. Tensions between two wings of Nidaa Tounes, whose name means Call of Tunis, spilled over into violence last week when a party meeting descended into open fighting with fists and sticks. A split within Nidaa Tounes could trigger political instability in the country that launched the first of the Arab Spring revolutions in 2011. Thirty-two of Nidaa Tounes' 86 lawmakers have already threatened to break away in protest at what they see as attempts by President Beji Caid Essebsi, who founded the secular party in 2012, to impose his son Hafhed as its leader. The president's office rejects those accusations. REUTERS/Zoubeir Souissi

Melco Crown’s Hollywood-themed Studio City is the company’s third casino in the southern Chinese territory of Macau, the only place in the country where casino gambling is legal. Studio City represents a break from the other 37 casinos operating in Macau. It has no VIP baccarat lounges and will focus instead on mass-market casual gamblers, in a sign of the times for the world's largest gambling hub. REUTERS/Tyrone Siu
