TRNOVCE, Serbia
The Wider Image: Serbia's bungalow cemeteries
From a distance, the cemetery in the eastern Serbian village of Smoljinac looks like a residential neighbourhood eerily placed among graves. But once inside the grounds, after passing a section with the usual stone slabs, visitors find rows of small bungalows painted in pastel colours. They have one or two rooms, large windows and ornate plaques - some inside, some outside - memorialising the deceased. These are the burial chapels of Smoljinac, cosy cabins with a furnished room inside, a storage place for wreaths and funeral paraphernalia, and the family crypt below. Some even have electric power inside. REUTERS/Marko Djurica SEARCH "SERBIA GRAVES" FOR THIS STORY. SEARCH "WIDER IMAGE" FOR ALL STORIES. TPX IMAGES OF THE DAY. Matching text: SERBIA-GRAVES/

A government vehicle with a red light atop is driven along a road in New Delhi
A government vehicle with a red light atop is driven along a road in New Delhi January 8, 2014. For years, India's senior politicians have resided in the capital's most luxurious colonial-era bungalows, protected by gun-toting police and chauffeur-driven cars running red lights with sirens blazing - even if it was for a wife's shopping trip. Now, these symbols have come under attack after bespectacled former tax collector Arvind Kejriwal, head of the anti-corruption Common Man's Party, shocked India by becoming chief minister of Delhi state in local elections last month. From eschewing guards, placing his safety in the hands of "God", to dressing in polyester shirts, Kejriwal has rejected these symbols of privilege enjoyed by a tiny minority of judges, civil servants and politicians in this city of 16 million people. Katy Bermudez inflates a float at the "Arco Iris" campground in the outskirts of Madrid July 2, 2013. With jobless rates at over 26%, taking a holiday in Spain is increasingly becoming a luxury many cannot afford, but the "Happy Bungalow" project hopes to buckle the trend by giving unemployed families the opportunity to rest and enjoy the summer in campgrounds throughout the country. Over 50 private campgrounds participate in the project. Families where both parents are unemployed and have at least one child under 14 can apply to spend four days in a campground over the summer months from May to September, excluding the month of August.
