The New York Jets announced on March 20, 2003, that they would not
match the offer sheet given to their top receiver, Laveranues Coles, by
the Washington Redskins. The Redskins seven-year, $35-million offer,
which includes a $13-million bonus for the restricted free agent was
deemed too expensive by the Jets. Coles jumps into the arms of teammate
