An annual Fathers' Day event, "Get On The Bus" brings children in California to visit their fathers in prison. Sixty percent of parents in state prison report being held over 100 miles (161 km) from their children. Regular prison visits lower rates of recidivism for the parent, and make the child better emotionally adjusted and less likely to become delinquent, according to The Center for Restorative Justice Works, the non-profit organization that runs the "Get on the Bus" program. ATTENTION EDITORS PICTURE 13 OF 27 FOR PACKAGE 'MALNOURISHED CHILDREN IN INDIA'. TO FIND PICTURES SEARCH 'MALNUTRITION INDIA'

Health workers measure the height of severely malnourished two-year-old girl Rajni at the Nutritional Rehabilitation Centre of Shivpuri district in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh February 1, 2012. India has failed to reduce its high prevalence of child malnutrition despite its economy doubling between 1990 and 2005 to become Asia's third largest. A government-supported survey last month said 42 percent of children under five are underweight - almost double that of sub-Saharan Africa - compared to 43 percent five years ago. The statistic - which means 3,000 children dying daily due to illnesses related to poor diets - forced Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to admit last month that malnutrition was "a national shame" and was putting the health of the nation in jeopardy. A child suffering from Dengue fever lies on a bed at Kantha Bopha hospital Phnom Penh in this June 18, 2007 file photo. Dengue -- which causes fever, headaches and agonising muscle and joint pains -- has killed 389 people in Cambodia this year, nearly all of them children, in what is believed to be one of the worst outbreaks in years. There is no vaccine for dengue but even if a treatment existed, the Health Ministry, which has an annual budget of $3 for each of Cambodia's 13 million people, would struggle to afford it. A Thai railway police woman teaches Somchai Mukprasort, a 13-year-old street child, how to write May 3 at Hualampong Railway Station in central Bangkok. The State Railway of Thailand has launched a pilot social service project to help keep poor and homeless children away from drugs, crime and child prostitution which have been on the rise since the Thai economy plunged into a crisis in 1997.
