Jean-Jacques Lesueur sits surrounded with Madagascar lemurs in Athens, Greece July 16, 2015.
Curious and noisy, a group of Madagascar lemurs surround Lesueur, founder of Attica Park in Athens, unaware that the special biscuits he is handing out to them are running low and they may soon not have enough to eat. Three weeks after capital controls were imposed on Greece's moribund banking system, supplies of the special imported dietary supplements needed to feed 2,200 animals from 345 species at Athens' only zoo are under threat. A Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) soldier is seen next to anchor cables on JMSDF's biggest warship Izumo at JMSDF Yokosuka base in Yokosuka, south of Tokyo March 31, 2015. Japan's Maritime Self Defense Force on March 25, 2015 took delivery of the biggest Japanese warship since World War Two, the Izumo, a helicopter carrier as big as the Imperial Navy aircraft carriers that battled the United States in the Pacific. The Izumo with a crew of 470 sailors is a highly visible example of how Japan is expanding the capability of its military to operate overseas and enters service as Prime Minister Shinzo Abe seeks lawmaker approval to loosen the restraints of Japan's pacifist post-war constitution. People peep through a hole in the wall while trying to catch a glimpse of the dead bodies of people who were killed when a carnival float hit power lines, at the morgue in Port-au-Prince February 17, 2015. At least 18 people were killed and 60 injured early on Tuesday when a carnival float hit power lines in Haiti's capital Port-au-Prince on the second day of the annual festival, officials said. The float caught fire after it hit a high-voltage overhead power cable, witnesses said. Video of the incident appeared to show the electric cable catch the head of a singer from hip-hop band Barikad Crew near the presidential stand packed with spectators. Seven people were reported dead on the float, and others were killed in the ensuing panic. The singer, known as Fantom, was among the injured, according to a friend. People gather at the site of a bomb explosion in Sanaa December 23, 2014. Five bombs exploded on Tuesday in Sanaa's old quarter, where many supporters of the Shi'ite Muslim Houthi group live, killing at least one person and wounding another, a Yemeni security official said. No one has claimed responsibility for the attacks, but the Houthis have been fighting the Sunni Islamist militant al Qaeda group and allied tribesmen since its gunmen captured Sanaa in September and forced the resignation of a government they had long seen as corrupt.
