Soburn, an 11-year-old girl, collects what can be used as food for pigs at landfill dumpsite outside Siem Reap March 19, 2015. A second-grade student, she helps her parents in the morning collecting usable items at the dumpsite where they live before going to school in the afternoon. Anlong Pi, an eight-hectare dumpsite situated close to the famous Cambodian resort province of Siem Reap, has recently become a tourist attraction in its own right. Sightseers pose for pictures with children who scavenge scraps for a living, making between $0.25 and $2 per day, according to a representative of a company overseeing the waste. Garbage collectors, with their horse and cart, unload rubbish at the municipal dump in Nezahualcoyotl, on the outskirts of Mexico City, February 18, 2015. Hundreds of horse or donkey-drawn carts will disappear from the streets of a municipality in the state of Mexico, located on the outskirts of Mexico City, and will be replaced by motorized vehicles, local authorities said. Nezahualcoyotl, commonly known as Neza, has started to retire 457 two-wheeled carts which have been collecting household rubbish for the past 45 years. They currently gather 300 of the 1,200 tonnes of rubbish produced in the area on a daily basis. The carts will be replaced by motorized vehicles - a motorcycle and trailer with capacity for half a tonne of rubbish - in the next two months. The vehicles will move along at 30 kilometres (18 miles) per hour. REUTERS/Henry Romero (MEXICO - Tags: SOCIETY TPX IMAGES OF THE DAY)

Children stand and sit near a woman looking through rubbish at a garbage dump in Zabbaleen in Cairo October 11, 2012. The Zabbaleen, which means "garbage people", have served as informal garbage collectors for approximately the past 70 to 80 years, living in the nicknamed area "Garbage City". Their community has a population of around 20,000 to 30,000, over 90 percent of which are Coptic Christians. For several generations, the Zabbaleen supported themselves by collecting trash door-to-door from residents for little money and they recycle up to 80 percent of the waste they collect. The neighborhood is also where Coptic Egyptian nun Maggie Gobran, a nominated candidate for the 2012 Nobel Peace prize, dedicated her last 27 years to helping poor children. A child living in the shanty area of al-Dweiqa walks past smouldering rubbish as he makes his way home from school in Cairo October 4, 2012. Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi has won grudging respect from detractors in his first 100 days by sending the army back to barracks faster than anyone expected and raising Egypt's international profile in several newsmaking visits abroad. Yet his political fortunes and those of the Muslim Brotherhood which propelled him to power may well depend on his delivering on more mundane issues such as easing traffic congestion and bread and fuel shortages by October 7 as promised. Children watch television powered by solar energy at Meerwada village of Guna district in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh June 18, 2012. Life in the remote Indian village of Meerwada used to grind to a standstill as darkness descended. Workers downed tools, kids strained to see their school books under the faint glow of aged kerosene lamps and adults struggled to carry out the most basic of household chores. The arrival of solar power last year has changed all that. On a humid evening splashed with rain, fans whirr, children sit cross-legged to swat up on their Hindi and delighted people can actually see what they are eating and drinking.
