The eunuch community consider themselves as re-incarnation of Lord Krishna and perform the wedding ritual at Koovagam on the full moon day in the Tamil calendar month of Chitirai every year. Eunuchs are castrated men used to serve as harem attendants or as a functionaries in certain Asian courts.

INDIAN EUNUCH MARRIES A HINDU GOD IN INDIAN THE VILLAGE OF KOOVAGAM
Indian eunuchs take part in a joint marriage to the Hindu god Krishna in the Indian village of Koovagam April 23. The annual Hindu ritual commemorates a tale from the ancient Mahabharata epic in which the gods promised victory to the forces of good in return for a human sacrifice. The tales says one man volunteered but as a last wish asked to be married. No woman came forward as none was willing to become a widow overnight. Krishna then appeared in the form of a woman to marry the man, and ever since eunuchs have re-enacted the ceremony in April under the full moon in this village in the southern state of Tamil Nadu.
