Tourists enjoy an elephant ride at the Kaziranga National Park in the
northeastern Indian state of Assam April 29, 2002. Situated on the
Brahmaputra River, the Kaziranga National Park covers an area of about
430 square kilometres. Its swamps and grasslands, with tall thickets of
elephant grass and patches of evergreen forest, support the largest
