Dale Zelko (R), a former U.S. stealth bomber pilot, uses a model F117 (Stealth) to show Zoltan Dani, a former Yugoslav colonel, where his plane was hit by a missile in front of Dani's house in Kovin, some 52 km (32 miles) east from Belgrade, October 31, 2012. aircraft. Since January, the base experienced three bird air strikes to
aircraft, including damage to a T-38C, a KC-135R and most recently, an
F-117 during the air show. Annually, the Air Force experiences an
average of $34 million in damages from bird strikes. The Air Force also
loses, on average, one aircraft
