Vice Chief of the Australian Defence Force, Air Marshal Mark Binskin (C), shakes hands with members of the international and Australian air crews involved in the search for missing Malaysia Airlines plane MH370 during a ceremony on the tarmac at the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Pearce Base in Bullsbrook, near Perth April 29, 2014. The chance of finding floating debris from the missing Malaysia Airlines jetliner has become highly unlikely, and a new phase of the search would focus on a far larger area of the Indian Ocean floor, Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott said on Monday. The international search effort for Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, which vanished on March 8 with 239 people on board, has so far failed to turn up any trace of wreckage from the plane. Given the amount of time that has elapsed, Abbott said that efforts would now shift away from the visual searches conducted by planes and ships and towards underwater equipment capable of scouring the ocean floor with sophisticated sensors. Anti-Mursi protesters wave posters of army chief Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi as a military helicopter with lasers pointed at it passes over Tahrir square during a mass protest to support the army in Tahrir square in Cairo, July 26, 2013. Many of those Egyptians opposed to ousted President Mohamed Mursi say their admiration for the army has never wavered, and that any anger was always directed at the generals in charge. In the turbulent world of Egyptian politics since Hosni Mubarak, a former air force marshal, was toppled, the military is seen as an institution that offers stability. An Iberia employee holds a Spanish flag that reads " Welcome Mr Marshall" as he takes part in a protest in Terminal 4 of Barajas airport during an Iberia strike, the second of three five-day stoppages planned for February and March, in Madrid, March 4, 2013. Workers at Iberia were set to protest at Madrid's Barajas airport at midday on Monday as part of a strike over job and pay cuts at the loss-making airline that will ground nearly 1,300 flights this week. Iberia is part of International Airlines Group, which also includes British Airways and which last week pledged to press ahead with plans to slash 3,800 jobs at the struggling Spanish airline, or 19 percent of the total, despite union opposition. A seagull flies overhead as welder Marshall Banks cuts a pipe on a BP Pollution Containment Chamber at Wild Well Control, Inc. in Port Fourchon, Louisiana May 3, 2010. The system is made up of a 125-ton structure that will be set on top of the largest leak source. This leak is located at the end of the riser, about 600 feet from the wellhead. Energy giant BP Plc, its reputation battered by a catastrophic oil spill threatening the U.S. Gulf shore, said on Monday it was working to stem the gushing undersea leak and promised to pay for the cleanup and compensation claims. BP is working on to try to seal the ruptured well with the undersea containment system that would capture the leaking oil and channel it to a tanker on the surface.
