A truck transports oil pipelines to be laid for the Pengerang Gas Pipeline Project at an area 40km (24 miles) away from the Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex in Pengerang, Johor, February 4, 2015. A collapse in oil prices is making it harder to attract investment in the next phases of a plan to build one of Asia's biggest energy hubs on Malaysia's southernmost tip, a development estimated to be worth over $50 billion. The Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex (PIPC) aims to help Malaysia compete with Singapore to become the region's top oil and petrochemicals hub, but the local government body coordinating the project said the environment was now clearly tougher. On the once-sleepy Pengerang peninsular in the southern Johor state, villages have been relocated to make way for storage tanks, refineries and terminals under the almost $30 billion first phase. A natural gas well platform owned by Encana north of Parachute, Colorado, December 8, 2014. The economy of Parachute, with a current population of approximately 1000 people, was devastated when thousands of workers lost their jobs on "Black Sunday" in 1982, after Exxon terminated the Colony Shale Oil Project. The current rise of hydraulic fracking in natural gas retrieval has given a cautious hope to the town's inhabitants, who know market demand and price can effect their local economy. Gas pipeline passes through the Eleme community near Nigeria's oil hub city of Port Harcourt December 4, 2012. Despite billions of dollars worth of oil flowing out of Nigeria South East, life for the majority of Niger Delta's inhabitants remains unchanged. A visitor looks at gas canisters that were salvaged from trash picked from Mount Everest and made into prayer wheels during a visual art symposium in Kathmandu November 25, 2012. Fifteen Nepali artists closeted for a month with a heap of 1.5 metric tons (1.7 tons) of trash picked up from Mount Everest transformed the litter into art, creating 75 sculptures, including one of a yak and another of wind chimes, made from empty oxygen bottles, gas canisters, food cans, torn tents, ropes, crampons, boots, plates, twisted aluminium ladders and torn plastic bags dumped by climbers over decades on the slopes of the world's highest mountain. Kripa Rana Shahi, director of art group Da Mind Tree, said the sculpting - and a resulting recent exhibition in the Nepali capital of Kathmandu - was aimed at spreading awareness about keeping Mount Everest clean.
