It stands where Beijing's Zhongzhimen Plant first started pumping drinking water to residents around 1910, using a steam engine to circulate the water around the perimeter of the imperial city's walls. The museum, which opened in 2003, topped a list by American television network CNN of the world's weirdest museums last year.
