A woman selling groundnut, walks past a billboard campaigning for Nyesom Wike, People's Democratic Party candidate in River state, along a road in Mbiama village, the border town between Nigeria's Bayelsa and River states February 28, 2015. Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan's flagship reform policies -- power and farming -- have not hugely benefited the delta. Power privatisation has yet to translate to more kilowatts on the grid anywhere, while reforms to farming, especially cutting corrupt middle men out of a state fertiliser scheme, has disproportionately benefited the north, where the vast majority of agriculture happens. Even so, the mere fact the president is from the delta is enough for many to feel historic injustices are being righted. Picture taken February 28, 2015. Guarani Ava Indian children have a lunch of peanuts and chica, a drink made from cassava, at their home on the edge of their ancestral land they call Tekoha Yvoh'y, where they are living while awaiting a court's decision on the eviction of farmers occupying the land, in Guaira, Parana state, near the border with Paraguay, August 2, 2013. The Guarani tribe is immersed in a bloody conflict with farmers over possession of their ancestral land that has characteristics of a territorial war, in spite of Brazil's indigenous policy being considered one of the most progressive in the world. The conflict highlights the risks being run by an agricultural superpower whose leftist government is trying to sort out centuries of ethnic disputes over ownership of the land from which much of the nation's wealth sprouts. A girl selling peanuts and mangoes watches the hip-hop group Y'en a marre during a community concert in the impoverished Dalifort neighbourhood of Senegal's capital Dakar, June 18 2011. With nearly 40 local chapters formed across the country since January, "Y'en a marre" is focusing on encouraging youths who have turned 18 since the last election in 2007 to register for the February 2012 vote -- and to vote against incumbent Abdoulaye Wade. Using a mix of concerts, demonstrations and stomping the streets in black T-shirts emblazoned with their name, the group has been hard at work raising youth awareness of government corruption and mismanagement -- and urging Senegalese to act instead of just complain over cups of 'ataya' tea. Labourers rest on the sacks of groundnut at a wholesale market in old quarters of Delhi December 15, 2009. Manufactured goods prices rose 4 percent from a year earlier, a sign that inflation pressures were spreading from food prices to the broader economy, and that could prompt the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to raise the cash reserve ratio (CRR) before year-end.
