Albanian opposition Democratic party supporters show the thumbs-down sign and shout anti-government slogans at a rally at Tirana's main Skanderbeg Square celebrating the tearing down of the last communist dictator Enver Hoxha's monument seven years ago February 20. The Democrats' leaders repeated their call for the governemnt resignation and fresh election.

Two Albanians look at the ruined house where the late communist dictator Enver Hoxha was born after it was blown up with 20kg of TNT on Monday night in the southern town of Gjirokaster, 230 km from Tirana. A 56-year old distant relative of the former ruler who was at the house was slightly injured. The picturesque town of Gjirokaster has been shattered by a series of terrorist attacks in the last few days for which the town's authorities have asked assistance of special forces of the interior ministry.
