ARGENTINE FISHERMEN PROTEST AGAINST A BAN ON HAKE FISHING.
Argentine fishermen carry a model of a wooden fishing boat in front of Congress during a demonstration protesting a ban on hake fishing that aims to rebuild stocks depleted by years of overfishing, June 2. The hake ban was levied by the Federal Fishing Council in an effort to salvage the stock, which has been decimated by overfishing following a 1994 accord between Argentina and the European Union. The sign on the boat reads " These are the only boats we have left".
