Thai soldiers and police officers look at weapons seized in raids following a military coup on May 22, during a news conference at the military barracks in Bangkok June 29, 2014. The amount of illegal firearms found in the search, arrest and seizure operation that took place from May 22 to June 25 consisted of 1,996 guns, 31,840 rounds of ammunition and 256 explosive devices in total. Of this amount, 144 rifles and machine guns, 258 shotguns, 2,490 pistols, 23 M-79 grenade launchers, 9 rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) launchers, 330 hand grenades and 134 explosive devices such as TNT, were associated with illegal armed groups, according to the Public Relation Center of the Peace and Order Maintaining Task Force.
