A vintage car drives next to a worker, on a lift, hanging flags on a light pole, with the colors of the national flags of Vatican and Cuba in Havana, September 17, 2015. Pope Francis is due for a three-night visit starting on Saturday as Catholicism is flourishing again in the former Spanish colony. As the church is gradually expanding its role and influence it still faces numerous challenges, notably low attendance, a lack of interest among youth and competition from Afro-Cuban religions that accept widely varying degrees of Catholic dogma. A man works on a security camera that was installed at Tiananmen Square in Beijing, November 1, 2013. China's domestic security chief believes a fatal vehicle crash in Beijing's Tiananmen Square in which five died was planned by a Uighur separatist group, designated as a terrorist organization by the United States and United Nations. Meng Jianzhu, a member of the 25-member Politburo responsible for domestic security, said the East Turkestan Islamic Movement was behind the attack. This is the first time Beijing has accused the group of carrying out the attack. REUTERS/Kim Kyung-Hoon (CHINA - Tags: CRIME LAW POLITICS CIVIL UNREST)

A workman inspects the structure of the Saint-Pierre-aux-Liens church as they partially tear it down in the village of Geste, western France, August 29, 2013. The 19th-century neo-gothic parish church, dedicated to St. Peter, was scheduled for demolition in 2007 by the city council, a victim of its size, maintenance costs and overall municipal budget issues. The current church, with only the bell tower and crypt remaining, will be replaced by a new one in 2016 that will be far cheaper to keep up. This destruction is part of a large debate across France where villages are faced with churches in deteriorating condition, diminishing populations, with fewer parishioners and priests, and increasing upkeep costs.
