The name of Britain's Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg is seen on an intercom outside his constituency office in Sheffield, northern England January 28, 2015. Clegg has two battles to win by May. Not only must he win back voters who feel betrayed by his support for big public spending cuts, but he also has to hang on to his own parliamentary seat. Clegg's centrist Liberal Democrats will have been in coalition government with the center-right, anti-welfare state Conservatives for five years when the next general election comes around. For many of his former supporters, another five years is out of the question. In Clegg's Sheffield Hallam constituency, where the Labour-controlled city housing estates turn into a prosperous suburb in the rolling countryside of a national park, the party is defending a large majority of 15,000 votes. Ahmed El Jaidi (L), 46, reacts as he talks through an intercom, after finding the entrance gate locked with a chain, at an office of Larcovi, the property promoter managing the social rent flat he resides in, in Madrid September 17, 2013. El Jaidi, his wife and four children have been living in the social rent flat since 2008. In January 2012, he lost his cleaner job after 20 years of employment, and stopped paying rent shortly after, resulting in a debt of 8,457 euros plus interest, he says. Negotiation proved futile. On September 16 he staged a sit-in at an office of Larcovi for hours with others facing possible eviction, but were not allowed inside and was asked to return the next day, only to be told eviction would be carried out on September 20, 2013 as planned. Sami Boussad, also facing eviction on September 30, stands next to El Jaidi. Picture taken September 17, 2013. REUTERS/Susana Vera (SPAIN - Tags: BUSINESS EMPLOYMENT REAL ESTATE CIVIL UNREST SOCIETY)

Hipkins and his crew were involved in the rescue operation when the Greek ferry Express Samina sank off the island of Paros on September 26. Hipkins personally plucked twelve survivors from the sea. The Invincible stopped in Malta for a five day port call. The carrier has been on deployement in the Mediterranean for the integration of Royal Air Force units and naval air squadrons and training for joint operations between the two Services. After a extensive refit earlier this year, the main focus of which was a major extension of the flight deck, the Invincible is able to operate both RAF and Navy aircraft for extended periods. It returns to its home port of Portsmouth at the end of November.
