Haruyoshi Fukuda, president of Jaguar Japan Ltd., unveils its Sovereign 4.0-V8, a 1998 model of the Jaguar V8 XJ series in Tokyo October 16. The Japanese unit of Jaguar Cars Ltd. said it would start selling 1998 models of its XJ series in Japan on November 1. The Sovereign 4.0-V8 will be sold at 9.55 million yen (US$79,580), unchanged from its earlier 1997 model price.

Haruyoshi Fukuda, president of Jaguar Japan Ltd., shows off the new four-litre valve engine of the Sovereign 4.0-V8, a 1998 model of Jaguar V8 XJ series, at an unveiling in Tokyo October 16. The new Jaguar XK8, which will succeed the legendary XJS, is presented to the media at the Geneva Car Show March 5. The XK8 will be available as a coupe and convertible car and has a new V-8 engine with 290 HP. The high-performance car is due to go on sale in October.
