A sign showing the way to the prostitutes stands is seen during an open day at a sex drive-in, west of Zurich August 24, 2013. A year after voters backed the plan to ban street street walkers from the city centre in a bid to make prostitution safer for both sex workers and customers, a sex drive-in will be officially opened August 26. After passing a check-in gate drivers, who must be alone in their vehicles, follow a marked route, negotiate a rate with one of the 40 prostitutes stationed there and drive on to one of nine partially enclosed wooden booths to have sex. The facility includes a social room, toilets and showers for the working women, who have to buy a 'worker ticket' each evening. Panic alarms are also installed in the wooden sheds. A car pulls up in front of prostitutes waiting for clients on a street in the outskirts of Moscow April 25, 2009. It may seem a typically Russian view of the economic crisis -- selling and paying for sex makes up much of Moscow's notorious nightlife, and some "night butterflies" say they are slashing their prices to compete. But they add a new kind of customer has emerged who wants emotional support, not sex. Picture taken April 25, 2009. To match feature RUSSIA-PROSTITUTION/CRISIS REUTERS/Thomas Peter (RUSSIA SOCIETY)

Prostitute Mary poses as she opens the trousers of a guest at the "GeizHaus" brothel in the northern German town of Hamburg April 16, 2009. It did not take long for the world's latest economic crisis to have a trickle-down effect on the world's oldest profession in Germany. But in one of the few countries where prostitution is legal -- and thus extraordinarily transparent -- the industry has responded with a special stimulus package of its own: modern marketing tools, rebates and gimmicks to boost flagging demand.
