Under a rare blue summer sky on London's Westminster Bridge, Jiachun Lin poses in a flowing white lace gown and windtossed veil with her fiance Da Song. For Chinese couples, wedding photos are not simply about having a photographer show up on the big day. They can be elaborate affairs involving costumes, make-up artists, camera assistants and trips overseas, sometimes even underwater, and take up as much as a quarter of the wedding budget. A worker monitors the production line at Jan Becher, the traditional maker of Becherovka liquor in Karlovy Vary, September 19, 2012, as the company prepares for a two-day shut down. The Czech government took the unprecedented step last Friday of banning all sales of liquor in shops and pubs - a dramatic measure in one of the world's heaviest-drinking countries - after dozens of people drank bootleg spirits laced with deadly methanol. Liquor makers and importers have complained they are losing millions of dollars per day on the ban, which they say will become counter-productive in the longer run as it will boost the illegal market. Agent Orange victim Nguyen Thi Van Long, 25 years old, learns to make paper flowers at the Friendship village, a hospice for Agent Orange victims outside Hanoi August 9, 2011. Delegates from around the world gathered in Hanoi for the second international conference on Agent Orange victims from August 8 to 10, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the introduction of Agent Orange/Dioxin into Vietnam. Agent Orange is a dioxin-laced defoliant sprayed by U.S. troops in the Vietnam War to destroy crops and jungle cover shielding guerrillas. U.S. warplanes used it the first time on August 10, 1961, in Vietnam's central Kontum province, dropping about 18 million gallons of the defoliant on southern Vietnam for most of the 1960s. The defoliant released dioxins that have been blamed for health problems on people exposed with claims of dioxin poisoning by more than 3 million people in Vietnam. This image, released April 29, 2004, of the Bug Nebula (NGC 6302) taken with the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope, shows impressive walls of compressed gas, laced with trailing strands and bubbling outflows. A dark, dusty torus surrounds the inner nebula (seen at the upper right). At the heart of the turmoil is one of the hottest stars known. Despite a sizzling temperature of at least 250,000 degrees C, the star itself has never been seen, as it is hidden by the blanket of dust and shines most brightly in the ultraviolet, making it hard to observe. ???
