bomb hit central Baghdad on Saturday about 100 metres from the

Squadron 27 "Royal Maces" walks past his jet after returning to the USS
Kitty Hawk aircraft carrier from a bombing mission over Iraq March 28,
2003. The carriers airwing provided close air support to British and
American ground troops yesterday dropping sixteen 1,000 pound laser
guided bombs, four JSOW (Joint Standoff Attack Weapon) and three 1,000
pound unguided bombs and targeted Iraqi tanks and helicopters.

An aviation ordinanceman checks his list near rows of 500 pound, 1000 pound and 2000 pound laser guided bombs in the hangar bay before they are loaded onto jets on the USS Kitty Hawk aircraft carrier in the northern Gulf March 21, 2003. Fighter squadrons with F-14 Tomcats and F/A-18Hornets launched some 90 sorties from the Kitty Hawk yesterday which included missions supporting U.S. ground troops advancing into Iraq.
