BRAZILIAN BUSINESSMAN GARNERO POSES NEXT TO AN ARTIST REDERING OF TALLEST BUILDING.
Brazilian entrepeneur Mario Garnero poses next an artist's rendering of the world's tallest building in Sao Paulo May 25. Garnero has announced plans to build the tallest building in South Americas's biggest city, Sao Paulo, in a joint venture with the Maharishi Global Development Fund of the Netherlands. The $1.65 billion building would be 494 meters (1,622-foot), taller than the Petronas twin towers in Kuala, Malaysia, currently the tallest in the world. The building is to occupy 1.3 million square meters (1.6 million square yards) in the center of a rampant drug trade area where homeless teen-agers are often seen squatting on the sidewalks smoking crack cocaine.
