The first Latin Grammy Awards will be held in Los Angeles on September 15, 2000. The announcement was made at a news conference January 19 in Santa Monica by Mauricio Abaroa, executive director of The Latin Recording Academy (C), singer Robi Draco Rosa (L) and actress Patricia Manterola (R). The awards show will be telecast on the CBS television network.
