ARTIST JOEY SKAGGS PEAKS AT PROTEST.
Artist Joey Skaggs speaks with a reporter near the painting he and graffiti artist Stephen Powers erected for demonstrators to throw elephant dung at that depicts New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani as the "Madonna", in New York's Washington Square Park, December 4. The portrait is based on "Holy Virgin Mary" by Chris Ofili which was part of a controversial exhibit earlier this year at the Brooklyn Museum that Giuliani described as "sick" and attempted to have removed. Powers was arrested by New York City police Friday in what his lawyer said was harassment because of his involvement in the anti-Giuliani protest.
