Mexico City's ring road evening rush hour traffic streams by in only one direction as the oncoming lanes lie empty after a march by striking students brought chaos for drivers in the capital November 5. Over 5,000 striking students, and some of their parents, blocked Mexico City's main ring road for over three hours before being persuaded to carry on their march to the official residence of Los Pinos via the slip road. The UNAM's (Autonomous University of Mexico) student body has been on strike for over six months after the rector tried to impliment an enrolment fee.
