A man carries an outboard motor which he found and recovered from the seabed in Rio Caribe, a town near caribbean islands, in the eastern state of Sucre, Venezuela October 29, 2015. Driven by a deepening economic crisis, smuggling across Venezuela's land and maritime borders - as well as illicit domestic trading - has accelerated to unprecedented levels and is transforming society. Although smuggling has a centuries-old history here, the socialist government's generous subsidies and a currency collapse have given it a dramatic new impetus. Venezuelan fishermen return from work in the western coast of Lake Maracaibo in Barranquita, about 150km (93miles) south of Maracaibo City in Venezuela May 25, 2006. In the last decades, the Lake of Maracaibo has been the main revenue source of rich-oil Venezuela, the world's No. 5 oil exporter, and now it suffers from a high level of pollution. That does not affect the production of crude but it causes a direct harm to the residents of the lakeside, especially the tiny villages of small fishermen that depend entirely on fishing to support their impoverished villages, which do not share the oil revenues. A crocodile watches under a layer of weed a crowd gathered for feeding time at Darwin's Crocodile Farm located 100 kilometres south of Darwin May 10, 2005. A record number of crocodiles in Australia's famous Kakadu National Park, and larger more aggressive saltwater crocodiles, have put rangers on high alert as the giant animals attack boats and bite outboard motors. Crocodiles have been a protected species in the Northern Territory since 1971 and their number has now grown to around 70,000 saltwater crocodiles, up from 3,000 some 30 years ago. There have been only two recorded fatal crocodile attacks in Kakadu, 250 km (155 miles) east of the tropical city of Darwin when in 2002 a German tourist was killed while swimming in a waterhole. The other fatal attack was in 1987. But in March this year a 56-year-old fisherman was attacked when a four-meter (13 foot) crocodile jumped onto his boat and bit him on the head, park rangers said. The man survived with grazes and puncture wounds to his left arm and head.

A large male crocodile jumps into the water during feeding time at Darwin's Crocodile Farm located 100 kilometres south of Darwin May 10, 2005.
