A Kashmiri fruit seller arranges fruits inside his shop at a market in Srinagar February 24, 2011. India's food inflation accelerated slightly in mid February on rising prices of milk and fruits, amid expectations the government may announce fresh measures to rein in inflation in the budget. Indian food inflation is among the highest in Asia despite good harvests and food prices have been in double digits for much of the last year, sparking street protests and keeping pressure on the government already under fire over corruption scandals. A shopkeeper rests next to papayas at a wholesale market in Mumbai March 15, 2010. India's headline inflation in February came within touching distance of the double digit mark, making rate action by the Reserve Bank very probable in its scheduled April policy review. Wholesale price inflation accelerated to 9.89 percent in February from a year ago, above the Reserve Bank of India's end March projection of 8.5 percent and higher than the 8.56 percent level recorded in January this year.
