ATTENTION EDITORS - THIS IMAGE IS 8 OF 24 TO ACCOMPANY A PICTURE PACKAGE RELEASED AHEAD OF THE START OF THE YEAR OF THE DRAGON WHICH BEGINS JANUARY 23. PLEASE SEARCH KEYWORD 'BLACK WATER' TO SEE ALL IMAGES PXP900-923.

A dragon-design papercut, a kind of Chinese Lunar New Year decoration, is seen on a wall in Singapore, January 16, 2012. In the year of the Black Water Dragon, investors could get torched again if they leap back into the market too soon. But the outlook is expected to brighten considerably later in the year. In a world of economic turmoil that's scorched investors, it's tough to make predictions, but that's the forecast for Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index if one follows the principles of feng shui - the ancient Chinese art, or science, based on 'Qi', the natural flow of energy - according to brokerage CLSA. The Lunar New Year, or Spring Festival, begins on January 23 and marks the start of the Year of the Dragon. Picture taken January 16, 2012. REUTERS/Tim Chong (SINGAPORE - Tags: SOCIETY)

Chinese peasant farmer Li Ke, 60, grandmaster of the ancient craft of papercutting, rolls out a sheet of his papercuts for the Chinese New Year of the Dragon at the courtyard of his house in Fengxiang. So renowned are the papercuts of Li Ke that he has exhibited his work in France and Japan. But at home in his tiny village, it is a dying art. The old grandmaster can find no one to inherit his craft. It is an ancient tradition for Chinese in northern Shaanxi province to herald in the New Year with papercuts. Picture taken January 26.
