Solar panels are seen at PetroChina's solar-powered Yizhuang gas station in Beijing, January 9, 2015. Reuters photographers from Mali to Mexico have shot a series of pictures of fuel stations. Whether it is plastic bottles by the roadside in Malaysia or a futuristic forecourt in Los Angeles, fuel stations help define our world. Oil prices steadied above $48 a barrel on Tuesday, recovering from earlier losses as the dollar weakened against the euro. Oil prices have dropped nearly 60 percent since peaking in June 2014 on ample global supplies from the U.S. shale oil boom and a decision by OPEC to keep its production quotas unchanged. A worker at a Sinopec petrol station is reflected in a car as he fiils it with fuel in central Beijing April 6, 2011. Asia's top refiner China Petroleum and Chemical Corp (Sinopec Corp) will raise crude oil processing this year by 8 percent from 2010 to 228 million tonnes, or 4.56 million barrels per day (bpd), a Chinese website reported last month, but it did not say whether the plan would be affected by changes in crude oil costs and fuel prices in China, the world's second-largest oil consumer. The profitability of Sinopec, China's largest fuel supplier, is subject to regulated fuel pricing more than rival PetroChina Co Ltd as it has a comparatively smaller upstream portfolio to cushion downstream weakness.
