ELECTION CANDIDATE BANDOPADHYAY SEEKS VOTES FROM PROSTITUTES.
Election candidate Sudip Bandopadhyay (2R) seeks votes from prostitutes with folded hands, in the eastern Indian city of Calcutta September 23. Bandopadhyay, a member of the Trinamul Congress, a key regional ally of the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party, had gone to Sonagachi, Calcutta's redlight district, to campaign. Polling in the eastern states of India will be held in October 3, ending the month long election process.
