St Paul's Cathedral is seen refracted in raindrops on a metal plaque following heavy rainfall in the City of London, Britain December 15, 2014. The architectural landscape of London never stands still. The City of London, as the largest financial services and banking centre in Europe, is no exception. Silhouettes of cranes pepper the horizon and buildings shoot skywards. Amid all this change there appears to be one constant: over 50 churches and other places of worship remain in the Square Mile. Chicago, Minneapolis and other parts of the Upper Midwest will have two consecutive days of subzero highs on Monday through Tuesday, according to forecasters. Highs will be held to the single digits and teens Tuesday and Wednesday across most of the Northeast, according to Accuweather.com. The Scottish saltire flag is seen refracted through raindrops as it flutters in the wind at the border between England and Scotland at Carter Bar September 6, 2013. Carter Bar is on the border between England and Scotland in the Cheviot Hills. It is also the site of the Raid of the Redeswire, a 1575 clash between English and Scots commemorated in a Border ballad. Signs of ancient conflict - from centuries-old fortifications to historic battlefields - score the landscape around the English-Scottish border. But many living in the region lead lives straddling both sides, and express practical concerns about the possibility of a more formal split between the two nations in the event of a yes vote in next year's referendum on Scottish independence, which will be held on September 18, 2014. As environmental worries cut into sales from traditionally lucrative bottled water, beverage companies such as Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Nestle and SABMiller are becoming more attuned to the risks of negative consumer environmental perceptions. Water is becoming scarcer, raising a fear that so-far manageable price increases could spike and leading drink companies to take action to maintain access to water and fight their image as water hogs. Coffee-maker, Liao Jin-tung, drinks his "Monkey Coffee" in the coffee and tea producing village of Jhanghu in the Gu Keng area of Yunlin County November 2, 2007. Coffee connoisseurs are going ape for a rare brew that Taiwanese farmers are producing with the help of monkeys. Formosan rock monkeys have long been a scourge to coffee farmers in Taiwan's mountains because they eat the ripe berries and spit out the seeds. But now, the farmers are collecting these half-chewed seeds and roasting them to produce a coffee that is being brewed all over the island. REUTERS/Nicky Loh (TAIWAN)
