In a ceremony with near spiritual qualities at the Venus Modern Body Shop in New York's East Village December 5, brander Adam Huffman, 22 (L), heats thin bits of steel and presses them into the flesh of volunteer Mike Dolce, 31 (R). The word "branded" was seared into Dolce's flesh in Arabic script
