Japanese motor journalists crowd around the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class C200 Kompressor Sports Coupe Sportline in Tokyo June 26, 2001. DaimlerChrysler Japan Co launched this new model in Japan on Tuesday, priced at 4.5 million yen ($36,400). Mercedes-Benz sold 3,898 cars in Japan in May 2001, about 0.9 percent of the total 420,326 new vehicles sold in the country last month, according to Automative News magazine.
